Moore is a great city nestled between Norman and south OKC. There is a great deal of expansion going on in Moore and its outlying areas. The weather is always a challenge and seems to target Moor Oklahoma more than anywhere else in the entire state. The Moore scene is that of a new and old mix of history and new age opportunities for home owners and flourishing business'. With all the new growth and prosperity in Moore and it's suburbs it is being placed on the map for a great little city to be in. There's a great school system and economic growth that is supposed to be on an upswing as we go into 2020. There are talks of massive companies wanting to invest in the sought after ease of accesss to main arteries of transportation.
We will see if the new frontier is as abundant as the old days of the first settlers in Moore Oklahoma. The land run brought many from the west to the heart of Oklahoma to settle and claim their stake. It was not that big of a town at that point, but it all changes over the next few decades.
There had been a lot that has changed since 1887 when Moore was first called Verbeck, by the railroad company. Al Moore was a gentleman that was living in a train car in "Verbeck" and decided that his problem of getting mail was intolerable. He made a sign, and painted in red, he wrote on it "Moore." And when a postmaster was finally appointed that's what the post office called it. In 1893 it was official and legally. Names Moore, Oklahoma. In the 60's Moore exploded into a frenzy of expansion and by 1962 it had become a city due to its annexation of 21.6 miles of more land being added. It was a national news story attracting new comers to the area.
With its population growning every decade by at least 15% or more it is the best spot in Oklahoma due to the fact that the ease of i-35 allowing access to okc and Norman, says a Moore resident that we talked to.
Colleges are easy to access and creating a solution for college students that don't want to live on campus or in the busy hustle and bustle of Norman. The highways are what make it a great place to be. You can literally get on and go and be anywhere in the metro. Need to zip to Dallas? I-35 is the perfect route that is a Main Street for Moore Oklahoma. Man y travelers stop in and see the quant little city of Moore. You can head over to th warren theater, catch a flick, or head over to any of the fine dining that is springing up in the area. There is also an amusement park just south of the city that has a ton of fun and games for the kids. The community churches are in abundance as well here in the "bible belt" of America.

Moore is a city that has been in the news a couple times. Thy have seen their fair share of events involving sever weather. Tornados tend to like Moore Ok. In 1999 a large tornado went through the heart of Moore and left 1000 home destroyed and 4000 residents displaced. It was a tragic day for the Moore residents. Oklahomans came from all over to help with the recovery efforts and to help Moore rebuild.
Moore was declared disaster and the state was forced to call in FEMA to help out with the catastrophe that happened that day.
In 2013 Moore saw yet again, another violent tornado. It was a deadly day and changed lives for many people in Moore and left them speechless. The twister started in the western side of Moore by a town called Newcastle. It violently came through the city destroying 1100 homes, the Moore medical center, a school, Moore post office and dozens of other business' and buildings. It has been the worse one yet. But Moore has rebuilt once again and become more resilient. Moore is a place of courage and presiverence. There are a lot of people that call Moore Oklahoma home and will continue to do so for many years to come.
The city is out growing its footprint in the sooner state and will continue to do so. There are a plethora of new jobs and schools being created to assist in the ever growing city need for more education and employment. The city of Moore is working on its infrastructure to make it a safer more efficient city. Moore has a great amount of parks for kids and plenty of activities for all ages. The best part of Moore, that was touched on earlier, is the fact that you are 10 minutes from the university of Oklahoma and 20 minutes to down town okc via I-35.
Oklahoma has a great deal of old sleepy towns and cities that are becoming more and more appealing to younger millinials due to the fact that the apartment rentals are popping up like weeds. This age group is all about renting and using things and not necessarily owning a home. This is a unique situation that Moore has taken advantage of. There are companies that have developed hundreds of new apartments for the Moore realestate scene and are able to cater to the renters of Moore on any budget.
